COURSE SUMMARY

SA Sunshine 5 Day Satellite Installation Training Course.

Day 1: Satellite Practical / Theory.

• What is satellite TV and how does it work?
• What is Single View, Extra View, Dual View, SD PVR and HD PVR?
• Do all satellite dishes have to face east?
• Learn how to assemble and install a satellite dish correctly.
• Learn how to use a Field Strength Meter “ Satellite Computer”.
• Learn how to find the DSTV satellite and get the maximum signal strength.
• Learn how to make cable connections and how to extend cables correctly.

Day 2: Satellite Decoders and Extra View.

• Learn how to install and fault find on all the different DSTV decoders.
• Learn how to install a Dual View decoder.
• Learn how to install a SD PVR and what makes it different from a Dual View decoder.
• Learn how to install extra view and what decoders are extra view compatible.
• Learn how to install an HD PVR decoder.
• Learn how to install an HD with a single view decoder for extra view.
• Learn how to install an HD with a SD PVR decoder for extra view.

Day 3 & 4: Splitters and Practical Fault Finding.

• Learn about the different splitters and how and when to use them.
• SLX Splitters and TV Links.
• Know when to use a booster and how to adjust its out put signal strength.
• Poor signal.
• Set top box errors.
• Picture Pixilation.
• No Heart Beat.
• No Picture on 3rd TV with extra view installation.
• TV Link not working.
• And other industry pitfalls to avoid.

Day 5: Revision, Questions and Answers.

• Learn how to accept credit card payments quick and easy.
• Go over any questions you may have on what you have learnt.
• Sample Invoice.
• Customer Care Principles.
• Safety Precautions.

Additional Training information.

• Monday to Friday
• Times: 9am till 3pm
• Maximum of 6 students per class.
• Minimum of 3 students per training session.
• Booking is essential to secure your place.
• Students must bring a pen or pencil with.
• Students must be on time.
• Training manuals are provided to each student to make notes in and keep.
• Any tools and equipment required for the course are provided but must be returned.
• A certificate is provided to each student on full completion of the course.
• Lunch: A light lunch will be provided to all delegates attending.
